Female Veterinary Surgeon Treating Dog In Surgery

Surgical Referral Center for Pets

Animal Care Clinic is proud to be the premier surgical referral center for pets in Northern Minnesota. We care for your pets the way we would want our own pets cared for — with lots of love and attention!

Tips Before Your Pet's Surgery

It is very important that your pet has an empty stomach for their surgery to reduce the risk of vomiting under and after anesthesia.

Food must be withheld from your pet at least eight hours before surgery. Water can be left for your pet until the morning of the surgery.

We will call you the day before your pet's scheduled surgery appointment to confirm the time you will be dropping your pet off and to answer any questions you may have.

Our usual drop-off times for your pet are between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM the morning of the surgery.

A Modern Surgical Center for Cats and Dogs

Our sterile surgical center is fully equipped with the safest gas anesthesia and the most advanced patient monitoring equipment. This allows us to perform many orthopedic and soft tissue surgical services and procedures. We have a trained veterinarian technician monitoring your pet during their surgery and recovery, and we provide you with a phone call immediately after surgery for your
peace of mind.

After the surgery, we provide you with detailed written instructions for your pet's home care needs, as well as a meeting with one of our experienced staff members to review your pet's condition.

We give you other care tips and advice to help promote a speedy recovery of your pet. And if you have any concerns once your pet goes home, our doctors and staff are always available to answer your questions.
