Animal control is often called because someone will find a stray dog with no identification.
You should always try and keep your pets confined to your property. However, if your pet happens to stray, you are more likely to get a call from a neighbor if your pet has an identification tag, which saves you the expense and hassle of retrieving your pet from the city or township in-pound.
